Introductory program using LEGO robotics to teach fundamental STEM concepts, teamwork, and problem-solving through hands-on challenges.

FIRST Tech Challenge

Grades 7-12

Middle and high school program operating at a smaller scale to build technical confidence with Android-based robot control and engineering notebooks.

  • Print and Present: Design personalized trinkets for 3D printing

  • • Finalize 3D print designs
  • • Complete VEX IQ Kit Bot building in partners
  • Rock The Block: Paint rocks for community distribution

  • • Bot strategy development

  • The Great Foil Toss: Launch a ball of tin foil challenge
  • Catapult Quest: Research and design popsicle stick catapults

VEX IQ Bot Tournament (9:00-11:30 AM)

Farewell Friday
  • Introduction to Python coding (9:00-11:00 AM)

Supervision & Staffing:

  • ✓ Minimum 4 student counselors from FRC Team 10989
  • ✓ Minimum 1 adult supervisor at all times
  • ✓ All counselors are passionate, trained team members
  • ✓ Parents welcome to stay during camp

Safety Certifications:

  • ✓ All staff CPR & First Aid certified (American Red Cross)
  • ✓ Background checks for all supervising adults
  • ✓ FIRST organization registration verified
  • ✓ Daily safety briefings and procedures review
